Top 20 Movies of 2011

Again, just like what i mentioned last year, I'm no movie critic, I find these movies entertaining and worth watching.

Let's take a look back and toast to a colorful year in movies :)

1. Black Swan

Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis

"Black Swan" is that rare holiday Oscar contender that is a movie for all seasons, a film that is all things to all people

This made Mila Kunis number 1  on my girlcrush list

2. Temptation Island

Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista, Lovie Poe, Solenn Heusaff. Rue Quinto

Trivia : the main characters were renamed into the vamps that personified Gosiengfiao's cinematic muses,  Virginia P. (1989 ). Cristina G (Diary of Cristina Gaston,1982), . Serafina was from "Nights of Serafina" (1996), "Nympha", (1980) and Pura K (Kikinang) (Secrets of Pura K., 1985). GMA made sure that they will stick to the original story. I've seen this twice. This film also made Heart Evangelista and Marian Rivera feud controversial. 

3.  Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Jonny Depp, Penelope Cruz

You know the old saying 'less is more?' I present to you exhibit A: 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.' -Rotten Tomatoes

4.  Crazy, Stupid, Love

Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone

Carell is his dependable wounded-puppy self, always likable, but Gosling and Stone are fantastic. This made belive that Ryan Gosling pleasures himself with his own reflection

4. Beastly

Vanessa Hudgens, Alex Pettyfer

Hudgens is a likeable on-screen presence, Olsen a complete riot, and Pettyfer teases teeny bits of a performance as a genuinely unpleasant baddie that could be the making of him one day, should the right script come along.- Rotten Tomatoes

6. Love and Other Drugs

Jake Gyllenhaal, anne hatheway 

It isn't bashful at all, incorporating plenty of sex and humour; you'll feel like you're sleeping with them too.

7. 127 hours

James Franco

It's an incredible performance by Franco, walking the line between what once was enthusiasm but now is manic desperation.

8 Zombadings 1: Patayin sa shokot si Remington

Martin Escudero, Kerbie Zamora

this film was made to entertain and educate altough i believe this should be shown a long time ago.. kudos to the makers ofZombadings Patayin Sa Shokot Si Remington

9 Ang babae sa septic tank 

Eugene Domingo, JM deguzman

 Marlon Rivera’s “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” (The Woman in the Septic Tank) is a high wire act of film making. It’s perceptive and hilarious in ways too far removed from the usual Pinoy comedy. It playfully runs rings around human folly where boundless ambition is held up to scorn and ridicule. In fact, this is one work that elevates local humor to greater heights. This likewise underscores the capability of the Filipino to weave a yarn dripping with wit and hilarity, I’d be proud to recommend this to anyone: friends, family, foe - even to Indonesian producer Delon Teo who believes that movies should bear no logic- Make me Blush

10 What’s Your Number?

Anna Farris, Chris Evans

Anna Farris is comedy's Marilyn Monroe.  Hunting down all your exes could be a fun thing... just can't help thinking why Chris Evans has to be naked 90% in this movie ?

11 Burlesque

Christina Aguilera, Cam Gigandet, Cher

Yes, Burlesque is bad, but it's the good kind of bad, with plenty of unintentional laughs and a powerfully dreadful lead performance by Cher. and Cam Gigandet is oozing with sex appeal

12 Water for Elephants

Robert Patinson, Reese Witherspoon

Makes a case as a worthy adaptation of a good novel but the jury is still out on whether Mr. Pattinson can be more than a brooding vampire. 

13 One Day

Anne Hatheway, Jim Sturgess

Few films "get" the strange, intertwining bonds of affection quite so effortlessly, although the episodic structure keeps the drama from flowing nicely.

14. Scream 4

Neve Campbell

Compared with so many of the rebooted slasher flicks, Scream 4 remains a cut above. No, that is not an intended pun. As Neve Campbell said. . You forgot the first rule of remakes; don't fuck with the original!

15 Friends with Benefits

Mila Kunis, Justin Timberlake

If it displayed more courage, this could have been a fascinating modern American movie. Instead it's a smart but still rather ordinary comedy that is entertaining but not ground-breaking

 16 Red Riding Hood

Amanda Seyfried, Shiloh Fernandez

Red Riding Hood is a film that tries so hard to be something it's not, because it isn't much of anything at all. It's hardly a romance because it isn't romantic. It isn't an action film because it's trying so hard (and failing) to be a romance. Essentially, it's trying to be Twilight (ewww) because it doesn't have an identity of its own. Kung di ko lang ♥ si Amanda Seyfried...

17 Anton Tubero

Lance Lopez

 this has got to be the most erotic indie film that i've seen. Lance Lopez is such an eye candy. My love for men and uniform was rekindled. 

18 The Road

Rhian Ramos, Alden Richards

Yam Laranas is a genius, the film is highly recommended to those who love scary movies. Plus Alden Richards proves why he deserves recognition as a serious actor and next hottie on the rise. 

19 Tangled

voice of Mandy Moore

There are no unnecessary pop references here, just fluid, graceful storytelling.

20  Brod

Arbie Bascara, Kenjie Garcia

There's a thin line between love and homophobia. -- makes me blush

this Party Pilipinas favorite is about to get married with her long time beau, Rich Alvarez. this girl can turn a baduy "Naghihinayang" song by Jeremiah to a gem. Currently she is making it big with our neighbor country, Indonesia

17. Joyce Ching
Yes, she's one of the Tweens, she's bubbly and i like her. I can see potential with this kid, i hope GMA will take care of her properly  This chinita charmer is the ultimate envy of most teens. Yes i'm gonna say it again.... Kristoffer Martin, Joyce's loveteam  is love ♥♥♥ . Can't wait for them to blossom. 

16. Lovi Poe
She is no longer just the king's daughter, Lovi is Regal Films' 'it girl'. Temptation Islands, My Neighbor's wife and soon Aswang all in a year. i guess it's her amazing Abs and her September FHM shoot. 

15. Emma Stone
Emma is one lucky Girl, being paired with Ryan Gosling in Crazy Stupid Love and soon to be released Amazing Spider Man with Andrew Garfield. I'll kill to be in her shoes.

14. Solenn Heusaff
VJ, actress, model, fashion designer, painter, at professional make-up artist. She has it all in her belt. 

13 Julie Ann San Jose
17 year old  Julie Ann plays the piano very well and has amazing voice, check out her Youtube version of Nicki Minaj Super Bass and you'll know what i was trying to say. Too bad she's paired with Elmo Magalona.. oops don't get me wrong guys, i like the Magalonas especially Frank but this girl deserves more than rapping songs with Elmo. Die hard fans are stuck with Selena Justin image of Julielmo. That has to stop.

12. Anne Curtis
Who doesn't love Anne Curtis? She is the first Filipina to reach a million followers in twitter and is the number 1 media darling. not to mention the success of No Other Woman, which i honestly didn't watch due to it's uber melodramatic punchlines. haha Kill me now :) 

11. Diana Agron
She is the only reason why boys watch Glee.

10. Amanda Seyfried
Red Riding Hood girl is all i ever think about whenever Bruno Mars' song "Just the way you are" plays.  

9, Shamcey Supsup
Filipino Pride Shamcey just recently bagged the 2011 Miss Universe 3rd Runner up Title. Beckies all over the country rejoiced with her  win and made her an instant DemiGod

8. Selena Gomez
Her songs are my guilty pleasure. This Disney Girl will someday bloom and hopefully one day, she gets her self a True boyfriend.

7. Marian Rivera
You have to admit it guys, she gorgeous, talented and has Dingdong as her Beau. Minus her "so-called attitude" I'm sure Haters will love her. :)

6. Heart Evangelista
With her sophisticated aura and Brazilian Baby Boy Daniel Matsunaga as her boyfriend, what more could you ask for? She's still my most favorite Chinita

5. Sam Pinto
Every Pinoy Man's Dream Girl. She is this year's FHM Philippines' Sexiest Woman.

4. Jennylyn Mercado
She tumbled down a lot of times yet Jen still finds her way to rise above life's hardship. Now, that what you call Woman. Lucky, please don't  break her heart. 

3. Ellen Adarna
my numero uno Pinay Girl Crush Ellen. 

2. Anne Hathaway
I watched her career flourish from "Princess Diaries" and her most recent "One Day" and i therefore conclude she is the next Julia Roberts. if you don't agree,  i'll let you talk to her pink nips on Love and Other Drugs :) 
i hope this portrayal as the new Catwoman won't bring us down
